Privacy Policy
CameraViewer is built to work without knowing who you are. There are no accounts or sign-ins, and we do not collect your name, email, location or contacts.
Your cameras stay on your network
CameraViewer connects directly from your iPhone or iPad to the cameras you add, over your own network or a VPN you set up. Video, audio and snapshots travel between your device and your cameras and never pass through our servers. We do not operate any server that receives your video.
What is stored on your device
The cameras you add (names, addresses and settings) are stored on your device. Camera usernames and passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain on this device. Snapshots and clips you capture are saved in the app and, when you choose, copied to your Photos library. Widgets read the last picture the app saved, on your device. Optional local diagnostics stay on your device unless you choose to share a report.
Microphone, Photos and notifications
The microphone is used only while you use Talk, and the audio goes directly to your camera. Photos access is add-only, to save captures you take. Motion alerts are local notifications created on your device while the app is open.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Paywall analytics
We use Superwall to show subscription offers. It receives anonymized events about those screens and purchases (for example, "an offer was shown" or "a trial started") along with basic device and app information, tied to a random identifier, not to you. These events contain no camera addresses, credentials, video or images. We do not sell data and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Data retention and deletion
Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing to request or delete. Removing the app removes everything it stored on your device.
Children
CameraViewer is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
